The Romney Society established in 1895, is the oldest and original Romney Society. The Romney Sheep Breeders Society represents the interests of Romney breeders across the UK, offering registration and marketing services to pedigree and commercial breeders alike. Romney New Zealand which was established in 1904 represents 130 Romney stud breeders who supply breeding rams for approximately 4000 commercial sheep farmers. It is one of the first sheep breeders’ society’s in the United Kingdom and was formed to record and register Romney pedigree breeding stock.
