I was incredibly keen to try Mojave Ghost as it is one of those Byredo scents that is constantly mentioned on forums and YouTube. This is a milky fruit scent on me..very soft and sensual. Another brand that people hate on here is Eccentric Molecules (another minimalistic fragrance) but to me these fragrances are simple, complex (in their own right) and smell terrific. I have tested this one a few times, and unfortunately, will have to agree with the negative reviews. Kinda youthful, but in a pleasant way. I got the body wash on sale and a sample size of the cologne. This is just gorgeous. Gypsy Water 2008. Very easy to wear, I do like it a lot. While this scent does not project as much as other equally priced fragrances, I feel it is worth the price. Sweet, fresh and youthful. I totally get the “ghost.” The spirit of this fragrance wraps around you, and seeps into the air above you. Byredo Mojave Ghost eau de parfum, €98. This smells like a niche version of Nautica Voyage with added nasberry note. It doesn't evoke Joshua trees, creosote bushes, coyotes, or dusty and windswept trailer parks on the edge of Barstow. Do we really need another Daisy/Chance Eau Tendre? This fragrance jumps out and punches me in the face when I wake up wearing it! As I sayd a perfect scent for a 17 y o! Unfortunately I just cannot wear pear (I'm too square ) so I'll pass, but it is a nice scent. It is the ultimate dumb-grab luxury scent. There was something about each one I liked and something I didn’t. If you like the soft, creamy & spicy part of Mojave Ghost, then Noa is the better and more affordable option. Had to spray a lot of this juice on in order for my husband to smell it on me. The longevity is the best component. Although I'm not much of a Byredo fan (except for the stirring M/Mink), the concept and ad-copy for Mojave Ghost had me pretty fired up. there ya go. I don't find this particularly fruity or heavily floral, its like a swirling combination of just this and just so at the right time. This scent is welcoming and familiar. I have yet to try it on the skin, but on paper this reminded me so much of Frederic Malle's Dans Tes Bras. I liked it instantly. With the name "Mohave Ghost" I was expecting something dry and 'desert-esq' like with cedar or oud and something 'ghosty' with pepper or tonka spice. agree with CascadeScents on youtube, this is a strong scent, among his top 5(strongest, and favoriate Byredo). Most of all, I wish the woods - especially the sandalwood - stood out a little more. Just a soft floral. smells like clean, crisp pear. Especially from a niche house? If it projected more, I would definitely recommend it, the scent itself is signature scent worthy (especially for the office). So weird all the hating on here about Mojave Ghost. I get an astringent pear note at first spray, which quickly blooms into horrible cheap yellow flowers and soapy white musks. Does sapodilla have any smell?? Mojave Ghost is remarkably elegant, and hauntingly beautiful. I grew up in the Caribbean eating sapodillas, maybe that’s why I find comfort here. Bal d'Afrique 2009. Couldn't agree more with the negative reviews.I wanted to smell it and judge for myself but alas it smells like nothing distinguishable at all. With the veil of dust hovering above of the fruit/flower notes, the whole effect became cloying and almost suffocating. Regardless, I can't deny it smells pretty good and distinctive. For me, Mojave Ghost will be a summer affair, and perfect for hot humid days. Because of the gorgeous name, and compelling reputation of this niche fragrance, I dished out a small stack for this lovely, simple bottle, and exquisitely boxed presentation. This stuff is tenacious and I could still smell it after several thorough washing.
